Applying makeup in monsoon always has risk of getting smudged whenever you step out of home. You need to apply some special kind of makeup to withstand wet conditions and still look gorgeous. There are few tips to be followedwhile applying makeup in a rainy day as applying makeup on rainy day is a challenge.
In monsoons, you can apply waterproof mascara, waterproof eyeliner, water resistant lipsticks and waterproof foundation too, if you cannot live without it. Preparing the Base
Base of makeup is prepared by foundation. If necessary, apply as little as possible. If you apply cream foundation, it gets melt with water easily. Powder foundations are better than this. Face powder is even better. You can use silicon base foundation as it gets blended with skin and becomes its part. On the other hand, if you use water-based foundation, it will get patchy with even one drop of water. You can apply just moisturizer and then translucent powder. Do not apply excess of powder; instead use it sparingly because when wet it gives sickly and chalky look.
Blush for Monsoon
Pick the blush shade according to your skin tone. It can be pretty rose, bronze and like that. Blend the blush very gently into the skin tone that no one should be able to find that you have put blush on.
Eye Makeup for Monsoon
Taking care of eye makeup is the most importantly in monsoons as you spent hours in applying right eyeshadow, mascara and liner and they start smudging due water. It can be due to humid air also. It is better to use kohl instead of eyeliner as kohl can withstand water for longer time. Avoid creamy eye shadow and apply powder eye shadow. You can apply colors of this season like aqua, blue and green. You can also use colors like light brown, beige, pink. Apply one or two coats of mascara. Invest in waterproof mascara for this season.
Lip Makeup for Monsoon
Lip makeup for monsoon should be subtle and sober. It should not be garish. For that you can use transparent lip-gloss. You can apply it many times a day to keep the look. You can also try some nude shades lipsticks, which last longer. Also light browns and pinks are popular with women. In place of this, you an apply lip conditioner also. Some women prefer to use matte lipsticks in this season. You can use lip liner but that should also be water proof otherwise it will rundown once rain starts pouring.

- Before starting makeup, your face should be clean and to decrease the sweat rate, rub ice cube for 5 to 10 minutes. It will help makeup to stay longer.
- People with oily skin should use astringent and toner should be used for normal to dry skin. It will freshen the skin.
- Completely avoid foundation and use powder instead.
- You should apply water-based moisturizer even in this season, as you tend to loose water from skin in the form of sweat in monsoon season.
- Keep you hair clean by regular washing as perspiration brings many problems in hair. Avoid elaborate hairstyles; try some simple ones. Damp hair does not give chic look
